Cast iron penstocks are a proven solution for municipal water and wastewater facilities. They are characterized by their robust design, high stability, and an attractive price-performance ratio. TESACO supplies round and square penstocks in various installation types as well as with the same actuation options as our stainless steel penstocks.

Installation types

Cast iron penstocks are available for various installation situations.

Anchor version

The anchor version is suitable for retrofitting on existing concrete structures and is the most frequently used design.

Concrete-cast version

The concrete-cast version is embedded in concrete during the construction of the structure. This creates a permanently friction-locked connection between the structure and the penstock. This installation type is available exclusively for cast iron penstocks and is particularly suitable for new buildings and large penstock dimensions. The concrete-cast version is available for both round and square penstocks.

Flange version

For pipelines, cast iron penstocks are also available as a flange version. We would be happy to check on request whether a suitable flange adapter is available for your required nominal diameter.

These applications make cast iron penstocks a sensible choice

Cast iron penstocks are particularly suitable for classic municipal water and wastewater systems where a robust and economical standard solution is required. Due to the concrete-cast version, they are also an interesting option for new buildings.

The cast iron penstocks originate from our former delivery program and remain available depending on the respective remaining stock. Applications and designs that are no longer covered by the remaining cast iron program can be implemented at least equally well and, as a rule, significantly more flexibly with our stainless steel penstocks. This applies in particular to special dimensions, various installation types and project-specific designs.

TESACO has been manufacturing penstocks for a wide variety of installation situations for many years. The historical picture shows a large-format cast iron penstock from earlier projects together with the company founder.

Even though stainless steel penstocks are the main focus today, selected cast iron penstocks remain available depending on stock levels.
